Smiths Falls downs Ottawa in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Stephen Baylis had one goal and four assists to lead the Carleton Place Canadians to a 7-2 victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings.
Baylis beat Darren Smith with a shot 3:37 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Carleton Place. Larry Smith picked up the assist. Baylis dished an assist on Anthony Latina's goal that made the score 1-0 Carleton Place at 14:25 into the first period. He then added assists on Evan Peterson's goal at 27 seconds into the third, on Dylan Gareau's goal at 8:46 into the third, and on Gareau's goal at 9:54 into the third.With the win, Carleton Place evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.
Pembroke was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as the Canadians were able to score four times while on the power play.
Carleton Place forced the Lumber Kings' goalies to work between the pipes, launching 36 shots and forcing 29 saves. Smith made 24 stops and Sean Keating made five.
Carleton Place also got points from Latina, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Andy Sturtz, who also racked up one goal and two assists. More assists for Carleton Place came via Kelly Summers, who had two and Tyson Stewart and Craig Pefley, who each chipped in one.
Pembroke was helped by Jordan Larson, who had one goal. Larson scored 18:55 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Carleton Place. Mark Petaccio provided the assist. Pembroke also got a goal from Trent Durocher as well. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Keegan Harper, who had one and Felix Chamberland, who had two.
Guillaume Therien recorded 24 saves for the Canadians. Carleton Place incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Lumber Kings incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
