The college baseball season is already off to a strong start with Waves players making their mark across the country!  This week, we are recognizing sophomore outfielder Charlie Saul and sophomore pitcher Carson Johnson!

Following a standout performance this weekend, our hitter of the week is sophomore Charlie Saul from Bryant University. Saul led the Bulldogs to a victory against Davidson where he contributed one double, two home runs, 7 RBIs and three runs scored. A key moment in the game was when Saul scored at the top of the seventh to break a 5-5 tie. Saul ended the weekend 5-for-14, contributing significantly to Bryant’s win.

On the mound, earning Pitcher of the Week is sophomore Carson Johnson from San Diego State University. The right-handed pitcher and transfer from the University of Arizona, made his first collegiate start for the Scarlet and Black in their game against Long Island University on Sunday. Johnson posted a career high 11 strikeouts in seven innings pitched, allowing only two hits. As a redshirt freshman at Arizona, Johnson allowed just three runs in his first ten appearances pitching with the team. 

Our players are doing amazing so far early into their college season and we are so proud of their accomplishments!
