Newport R.I. - 2026 will mark the 25th Anniversary of the Newport Gulls in Newport, Rhode Island. The Newport Gulls, who are here celebrating a quarter-century of excellence as one of the nation’s premier summer collegiate baseball teams and the New England Collegiate Baseball League’s most successful franchise, are excited to announce the 25th Anniversary Alumni Reunion Weekend, set for Thursday, July 16th to Sunday, July 19th, 2026! Having secured eight (8) championships, 14 division titles, and developed well over 300 players to professional baseball, including 42 who reached the Major Leagues, The Gulls organization is welcoming back its entire Gulls Family, including all former players, coaches, interns, host families, and volunteers, to Cardines Field and the “City by the Sea”.
As the Board of Directors of the Newport Gulls explains: “Since the first day that our Gulls arrived in Newport in the summer of 2001, we could not imagine how significant the organization would become both on and off the field. None of our success would have been possible without the commitment from our players and coaches. Therefore, it is time to have each one of you return with your teammates, families, parents, and friends to the City by the Sea to celebrate 25 years of success. Although our 25th Year Anniversary Weekend is primarily in support of our players and coaches, we are also inviting back interns, host families, and volunteers who made this all possible to celebrate their contributions to the last 25 years. Spread the exciting news as we welcome all our Gulls Family back for 2026!”
This special weekend will feature celebratory events, a cocktail reception, barbeques, pre-game on-field introductions, as well as the seventh Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony of the organization in the beating heart of Newport - Cardines Field. All past alumni are strongly encouraged to provide their updated contact information as soon as possible to gm@newportgulls.com & jsillman.newportgulls@gmail.com, or via the dedicated Facebook groups and our social media pages to ensure they receive their formal invitation and the full itinerary for this landmark event.
Start planning now, and let's return to the nest in 2026, and help us celebrate 25 years of history and reinforce the reality that the Gulls family flies together forever!

The Newport Gulls, members of the 13-team New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded as the Rhode Island Gulls in 1998 in Cranston, R.I., before moving to Newport in 2001. In addition to recruiting, fielding, and developing a team of the nation’s top collegiate baseball athletes and attracting 50,000 fans annually to Cardines Field, the predominantly volunteer organization strives to benefit the community via summer camps, reading programs, fundraisers, scholarships, and charitable donations – totaling over $1 million since 2001. The Gulls are eight-time champions of the NECBL – the winningest franchise in league history – and were ranked as the overall No. 1 summer collegiate baseball team in the country by Perfect Game USA in 2012.
