Niagara University's first year at the ACHA DII level has proven to be paying dividends as the Purple Eagles sit at 11-0-0 with several wins in convincing fashion. The forward trio of Sean Walsh (11 G 8 A), Ben McRobbie (9 G 9 A), and, Ethan Knauf (4 G 13 A) have lead the way on the stat sheet, while defensively Jim Dematteo and Ethan Jasmin have bolstered the blue line and have added several points as well. Goaltenders Dominic Andrade and Josh Lacelle have been perfect averaging a .940 save percentage and allowing a total of 16 total goals in 11 games played. Niagara's had two close calls in their most recent contests against division rival Brockport winning one game in a shootout 3-2 and in another 3-2 game that the Eagles won in regulation.
The UNYCHL Division has also had strong starts from Binghamton University who has moved to 10-1 with their only loss being to Farmingdale University who is projected to be one of the top teams in the Northeast. Binghamton was able to take the first game of that two game series against Farmingdale which should be a signature win in the early going of this young season.
St. Bonaventure's and Brockport State have also had strong starts earning some wins against traditionally strong ACHA DII programs.
