The Wenatchee Wolves completed a series sweep of the Bellingham Blazers on Friday, April 1, at the Sportsplex to claim the Northern Pacific Hockey League’s Cascade Cup championship with a 2-1 Game 3 win.
The Wolves jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period. Blazers defenseman Kevin Duncan cut the lead in half with seven minutes left in the game, but Wenatchee goalie Bronson Moore kept Bellingham at bay the rest of the way.
“I am proud of the effort our boys showed,” Blazers coach Mark Collins said in a team release. “They came a long way this season and showed a lot of heart all year.”
