Bryant Guilmette brings his left-handed delivery to North Adams after completing his junior season in-state at UMASS-Lowell where the River Hawks finished 37-14 to claim the fourth-best regular season record in the highly competitive Northeast-10 Conference.

The 2011 season was a coming out party of sorts for Guilmette as a member of a River Hawks’ squad that earned the fifth seed in the NCAA Tournament’s East Regional bracket, the program’s 18th tournament bid. For the third straight year, Guilmette made at least thirteen lengthy appearances for the pitching staff, going 3-0 with one save and a pair of starts. His 2.38 ERA was a valuable cog in UMASS-Lowell’s remarkable 1.83 Team ERA and one of the lowest totals in the conference. Guilmette led all relievers with 34 innings pitched and had terrific put-away stuff with 32 strikeouts, also a high for the bullpen. Opposing hitters had a hard time against Guilmette as he only allowed 25 hits and 11 walks all season, good enough for an opponents’ batting average of .198.
