Demetrius Banks joins the Canaries coaching staff in 2016 after spending the previous 14 seasons in the minor leagues and independent ranks. Banks, 32, was originally drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 13th round of the 2002 MLB Draft. He made 93 relief appearances over 5 minor league seasons, racking up 155 strikeouts in 129 innings. Banks became a starting pitcher at the independent level, making 97 starts from 2007-2015 in the Can-Am League, Frontier League, and United League. During that stretch Banks recorded a 44-34 record and 4.52 ERA. |
