Former Valparaiso Crusader pitcher Kyle Wormington will handle the pitching staff for the 2015 BlueJackets. The right-hander was known as a strike thrower throughout his playing days, something which he hopes to instill in the Kitsap staff this season. In 2012 he was named newcomer of the year in the Horizon League, finishing the season with a 3.33 ERA and a 3-to-1 strikeout to walk ratio. Prior to Valparaiso, Wormington was the ace for Connors State, a junior college school. In 2011 he earned All-Conference and was a First Team All-Region II selection after posting an 8-1 record with a 2.67 ERA. Following college he played independently for the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League. Wormington also has managerial experience in the Oklahoma Spring League. He is originally from Norman, Oklahoma.
