Franklin spent this spring at Dominican College in New York before coming to East Texas this summer. As a Charger, he appeared in eight games, including six starts, and struck out 27 over 32.2 innings pitched. He had three starts where he pitched five or more innings and allowed fewer than two earned runs.
Miller spent last summer in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League with the Adirondack Trail Blazers, appearing in nine games and making five starts. Miller’s 36.1 innings pitched was second highest on the staff, and his 35 strikeouts also tied for second.
He spent his freshman season at Hudson Valley Community College where he posted a 6-0 record with a 2.12 ERA, and earned both All-Conference and All-Region honors. Miller made headlines when he struck out 16 in a complete-game victory against SUNY Adirondack and was named Player of the Week (4/29/14). His 66 strikeouts ranked sixth in the nation.
