Alex travels south to East Texas for his second season of summer collegiate baseball after posting impressive offensive numbers during his junior season at Slippery Rock. In 43 games as a catcher and designated hitter, Bell hit .318 with five home runs, 35 RBI, and scored 30 runs with a slugging percentage of .493. He recorded 13 multi-hit games, 11 multi-RBI games, and hit left-handed pitching at a .550 clip.
Bell’s numbers during his sophomore season were equally impressive, as he hit .324 with a home run. He ranked among the top 5 on his team in several offensive categories, including starts made (43), at bats (148), runs (43), hits (48), doubles (8), RBI (27), and total bases (59).
Last summer he played for the North Fork Ospreys in the Hamptons Collegiate League and hit .400 with a home run, 13 RBI, and 12 runs in 15 games.
