Jake is keeping his talents in East Texas for the summer after a successful junior season at Lamar. Nash ranked second on the Cardinals’ roster with a .324 batting average this spring, and collected 59 hits, 19 RBI, and crossed the plate 22 times. He ranked second on the roster in on-base percentage (.383), and third in both total bases (69) and starts (48). He spent time at first base, third base, and in the outfield.

Nash spent last summer with the Westhampton Aviators of the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League in New York. He hit at a .276 average with three home runs, four doubles, and a triple in a team-high 145 at bats. His 23 runs and 22 RBI both ranked first on the team, and he finished second in walks (14) and third in hits (40).

As a sophomore at Vernon College, Nash hit .331 with four home runs and 42 runs batted in on his way to earning the Coach’s Award. He hit .335 with 17 doubles for the Chaparrals as a freshman and was named Freshman of the Year.
