BIOGRAPHY: Kevin Cyle Hankerd, 30 graduated from South Hills High School in 2004 where he earned most valuable player honors after batting .575 his senior year. Hankerd attended University of Southern California. He earned a spot on the All-Pac 12 first team in 2006 after batting .383 with 10 Homeruns, and 55 RBI. Hankerd made 167 career starts in 169 career games. He finished his career with a .340 batting average, 37 doubles, 12 home runs, and 123 RBI. Cyle was also a member of the Newport Gulls from the New England Collegiate Baseball League for two summers.
PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: Hankerd is a former two time MLB Draft pick, having most recently been selected in the 3rd round by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2006. Cyle played at five different levels, making it as high as Triple-A in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization
2014 HIGHLIGHTS: Played for both Southern Maryland and Yucatan last season hitting a combined .284, with 10 home runs, and 51 RBI between the two clubs. Knocked in 3 runs against Bridgeport on September 13th; Had a two homer game against Lancaster on August 15th; Had 5 RBI from August 22-24.
2013 HIGHLIGHTS: Played for Southern Maryland in 2013 earning an All-Star appearence after batting .322 with 22 home runs and 61 RBI in 81 games played. Had 5RBI against Camden on July 2nd; Banged out 3RBI against York on July 20th; Homered in three straight games from June 29-July 2nd.
