BIOGRAPHY:  Stan Cliburn, born December 19th, 1956.  He graduated from Forrest Hill HS.  Stan attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he was drafted by the California Angels in the 1974 draft.  

PROFESSIONAL PLAYING HIGHLIGHTS:  Stan made his Major League debut on May 6th, 1980 against the Toronto Blue Jays.  He went on to play for the Angels in 54 games in 1980.

MANAGERIAL/COACHING CAREER:  Southern Maryland Manager Stan Cliburn has earned 1,500 wins after the Blue Crabs defeated the Sugar Land Skeeters on June 2nd 2015.  He began his managing career in 1988 with Watertown in the New York Penn League..  Led Augusta to the South Atlantic League Championship in 1989.  Stan has managed 188 past, and current major leaguers in his career.  He has also managed 18 past, and present major league all-stars.  Cliburn was the hitting coach for a Lancaster team in 2014 that was 1st in the league in runs scored (702), Homers (154), RBIs (668), and Total Bases (2064).  In addition, under Stan, Lancaster hitters collectively hit .268, Slugged .426, and owned an On-Base Percentage of .337, all good for second in the league.
