Moses played two years of college baseball, first at Spartansburg Methodist Community College and then Monroe College. Collected 7 hits in 12 at bats in 11 games at SMCC in 2010 before transferring to Monroe, where he hit .256 in 28 games before signing a letter of intent at Southern University. Moses graduated from Friends Central High School in 2009, where he was a four-year varsity starter.  He was named to All-Friends League and All-Main Line each year, and was a Pre-Season All State selection for his senior year.  Moses still holds offensive school records for career at-bats (242), hits (T-97), singles (74), and stolen bases (69).  His .401 batting average ranks 4th in school history as well.
