Brent’s story is a truly heroic one.  After starring at La Salle High School in Rhode Island, Brent enrolled at UMass-Amherst on a baseball scholarship.  However, he was forced to return home after being diagnosed with lymphoma.  After receiving treatment he returned to play, enrolling at CCRI where he played for his uncle Ken.  In that season he hit over .300 and drove in 15 runs.  Next year he returns to Division 1 baseball as he will enroll at the University of Rhode Island.  Born to Joseph and Alyssa Hopkins, Brent has two siblings, Jared and Kristyn.
