The left-hander, who pitched with the Baltimore Orioles in spring training, begins his first season with the Ducks and in the Atlantic League. Garrison reached the Major Leagues with the New York Yankees in 2011 and retired both Seattle Mariners batters he faced at Yankee Stadium. Prior to being called up, he pitched with the Double-A Trenton Thunder in the 2010 Eastern League playoffs and made 16 starts with Trenton in 2011. The Trenton native has also spent time in the Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks organizations, reaching the Triple-A level in 2010 and 2012.

The 27-year-old spent the 2013 season with Double-A Mobile in the Diamondbacks organization. In 47 games (one start), he went 1-1 with a 3.30 ERA and 49 strikeouts to just 14 walks in 43 and two-thirds innings. The lefty has appeared in 198 games (133 starts) in his career and has a 40-46 record with a 4.20 ERA, 542 strikeouts and three saves. Garrison was originally drafted by the Brewers in the 10th round of the 2005 amateur draft.
