Selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 2010 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. The Athletics took Anarumo with the 10th pick of the 21st round and 635th overall.
2010: Anarumo, the 13th player drafted under the direction of head coach Steve Owens, is the 33rd player to be drafted in the program's 63-year history. Anarumo, a six-foot, four-inch left-hander, becomes the third player in program history to be selected by the Athletics (Mike Affronti – 2006, Rich Berg – 1987). The Dolphins have had a pitcher selected in eight of the last 10 MLB Drafts.
Anarumo, who red-shirted during the 2009 season, made 11 appearances out of the bullpen this season. In 11 innings, Anarumo was 0-1 with a 6.55 earned run average and 11 strikeouts. Anarumo held opponents without a run in seven of his 11 outings, including his final three, totaling four innings. As a freshman, Anarumo was 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 13 innings over 13 appearances.
