SPRING 2014: Thomas has pitched in relief in three games for the Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Islanders for 1.1 innings as of May 3rd. He has been injured for most of this season and is just now getting back to health. He’s extremely dedicated to doing everything within his power to play professional baseball and is hoping this is the summer that everything comes together.
SPRING 2013: Thomas transferred to Texas A&M - Corpus Christi in 2012 and in the spring threw 10 innings in 12 appearances for the Islanders with a 9.00 ERA striking out 13 batters.
SPRING 2012: Thomas transferred to Navarro College but did not play while medically redshirting during the 2012 season.
SPRING 2011: Thomas was a starting pitcher in his freshman year at the US Military Academy at West Point. The Black Knights advanced to the Patriot League Championship series. He pitched in 8 games (starting 7) and finished 0-4 with an 8.68 ERA in his only season with the Black Knights.
HIGH SCHOOL (2010): Thomas played at Cottonwood High School in Murray, Utah. He earned all-region honors for the Colts and they went 22-6 during his senior season and were ranked third in the state of Utah. The Colts finished first in 5A Region 2 with a perfect 12-0 record and Thomas had a 4-0 record for the Colts.
PERSONAL: Thomas was born in 1991 in Woodland, CA. to John and Mary-Louise Casey and has one sister, Stephanie. He’s into nutrition and practices yoga as much as possible. He loves the outdoors, white water rafting, rock climbing, hiking, going to the beach, and anything with a jet ski. He is majoring in Kinesiology Exercise Science with a minor in Business Administration.
