Buzzard played two seasons at Howard Payne University, where he hit .309 as a junior in 2012 with a home run and was second on the Jackets with 21 runs scored in 34 games. Comes off a 2013 season at Howard Payne where he hit .256 with three doubles, no home runs and seven steals in 38 games. Played two years at Ranger Junior College. From his Howard Payne bio: Colton is a 2009 graduate of Coleman High School in Coleman, Texas where he graduated on the All-A Honor Roll. While playing for the Bluecats, he helped lead the football team to two Area Championship titles and the Bluecat baseball team Bi-District Runner-Up title.  He lettered in Football, Baseball, Basketball, Track, and Powerlifting.  He earned All-District honors in football and baseball, All-Big Country Player of the Year (Football), and All-Academic State (football).  Academically, he was an active member of the National Honor Society.
