Chris Allen, a 6-foot-4 right-hander, joins the Jackals for his third professional season in 2010.

The 25-year-old spent the entire 2009 campaign with Les Capitales de Quebec, going 5-8 with a 3.71 ERA, the tenth-lowest in the Can-Am League, while leading the circuit with two shutouts.

Allen, who was drafted out of high school by the Florida Marlins as a catcher in 2004, played his college baseball at Florida International University.

The DuBoistown, PA native made his professional debut in 2008 when he signed with the Frontier League’s Southern Illinois Miners and went 6-2 with a 3.39 ERA.
