Lucas Ellex is a junior right-handed pitcher for the University of Pittsburgh Panthers. In his first year with the Panthers, Ellex pitched 3.1 innings posting a 5.40 ERA in two games. The righty allowed two earned runs, on four hits and five walks while recording one strikeout. Ellex spent his first two seasons at Lackawanna College where he went 8-6, with a 3.40 ERA his freshman season. A native of Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania, Ellex played two years of varsity ball for Wallenpaupack High School, in which he went 11-1 with four saves. Helped his team capture the Division 1 Lackawanna League Championship title in 2007.  Selected as the Times-Tribune All-Region Player of the Year following his senior year. Joins Panther teammate Alex Caravella on the Sanford Mainers this summer.
