Ben Burmeister is a Freshman right-handed pitcher for the University of San Diego Toreros. In his first season, Burmeister appeared in two games out of the bullpen. In his brief outings the righty racked up a 3.86 ERA in 2.1 innings pitched. Three of the seven outs were via strikeout, as he allowed only one earned run to cross the plate. Native of Boulder Colorado, Burmeister was a 4-year varsity player for Fairview High School. During his senior season, he recorded six saves to go along with his 3-1 record. Compiled a 1.70 ERA and earned All-League first team honors as well as honorable mention for All-State. Junior year was just as good as he picked up seven saves and a 1.10 ERA. Named two-time team MVP. His grandfather, George, played Triple-A baseball.
