Leone was a key member during Clemson's College World Series run, as he got the win on the mound in the team's Super Regional clinching victory over Alabama. He went 5.1 innings and allowed just one unearned runs on three hits, and for the season had a 4.78 ERA in 58.1 innings. He was a two-time all-state selection at Norwich Free Academy in Connecticut, and was also named the No. 1 Conn. HS prospect by Perfect Game.
