Taylor McInnis has been a trusted arm out of the bullpen for three years at Lamar University. The SteepleCats will look to McInnis to make quick work of opposing teams late in games this summer. The SteepleCats will also look to McInnis for the leadership that has made him the president of Lamar's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Southland Conference's SAAC representative to the NCAA.

McInnis made 26 appearances as a sophomore in 2009, second-most on the team, and went 1-0 with a 3.31 ERA and a team-leading three saves. In 35 1/3 innings McInnis struck out 29 batters and walked just nine. As a freshman in 2008, McInnis went 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in eight appearances and one start.

McInnis played high school baseball at Port Neches-Groves High School. He was named All-District 20-4A pitcher as a junior and as a senior. McInnis also played football in high school and was named all-district his junior and senior seasons.
