Guido Knudson has been an incredibly versatile pitcher in his three seasons at the University of California San Diego. As a freshman and as a junior, Knudson was a dependable starter. As a sophomore, Knudson was an all-conference closer.

In 2010, Knudson helped lead the Tritons to the Division II College World Series for a second consecutive year. Knudson went 10-3 on the season with a 3.87 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 88 1/3 innings pitched.

As the Tritons closer in 2009, Knudson led the staff with 30 appearances. He went 4-1, recorded 10 saves and posted a 4.28 ERA. He struck out 38 batters and walked just 11 in 40 innings of work. Knudson was the lone relief pitcher named to the 2009 All-California Collegiate Athletic Association First Team.

As a freshman starter at UCSD in 2008, Knudson appeared in 17 games and made 15 starts. He went 6-5 with a 4.08 ERA. He led the staff with 86 innings pitched and was tied for the team lead in strikeouts with 60.
