SPRING 2013:  JT appeared in 11 games for the Saints finishing the season with a 4-3 record.  He pitched 38.1 innings allowing 13 earned runs on 19 hits, 39 strikeouts and 18 walks for a final 3.05 ERA.  The Saints finished 34-29 and won the 2013 Jayhawk West Conference Championship.

 

SPRING 2012:  Looney was a staple in the Saints rotation in his first season at Seward, starting 9 games and seeing action in 13 ballgames. He finished the season 5-2 with a pair of saves and was third on the team with 65 innings pitched. He struck out 39 hitters and walked 25 while allowing 61 hits on the year. Looney was a workhorse for Seward as their #4 starter, giving the Saints 6 or more innings in 6 different starts and pitching into the 6th or deeper in his last five starts. He pitched his finest game of the season late in the year in a key win against Hutchinson when he went all 9 innings of a 9-1 Seward win over the Dragons, striking out a career best 8 and allowing just 4 hits and 1 runs in a game that ultimately gave the Saints the top spot for the Region VI Tournament.

High School:  Looney made the trip to Liberal from Canyon High School in Texas where he played for coach John Doan. Looney was a 2nd team All-District selection in both 2011 and 2010 for Canyon. He played the summer of 2011 for the Oklahoma Travelers where he was named the Most Outstanding pitcher in the Pueblo Tournament.
