Geoff Brown is a pitcher from the University of Washington and returns to Newport for his 3rd season.  In 2009 he helped lead the Newport Gulls to the NECBL championship appearing in 12 games, all in relief, going 3-0 with a 1.31 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 20.2 IP.  Batters hit just .197 off of Geoff in 2009.  In 2008 Geoff was part of the Gulls team that finished as runners up in the NECBL.  Geoff pitched in 12 games, starting 1, and went 4-2 with a 2.23 ERA.  Batters hit just .181 off Geoff as he struck out 38 batters in 32.1 IP.  Drafted in the 23rd round out of high school, Geoff chose to attend the UW.  In his first 2 seasons he appeared in 51 games, starting 4, and went 6-5 with a 5.10 ERA and 3 saves.  In 2010 he threw 65.1 innings and finished the season with a 5.79 ERA, walking just 28 batters.  Geoff is also college teammates with Gulls infielder David Bentrott and outfielder Sean Meehan.  Geoff was born in Auburn, Wash. to Brenda Brown and has a younger brother, Marcus.
