Derek Legg is an infielder from Long Beach State.  In 2010 Derek played in 36 games, starting 27.  Derek batted .228 in 101 at-bats, but played solid defense all season making just 4 errors in 143 chances.  Starting as a true freshman in 2009, Derek batted .304 with 10 doubles, 1 homerun, 20 runs batted in and 11 stolen bases.  Derek started 48 games, all at second base, and tied for the team lead with a 12 game hit streak.  In high school at Vista Murrieta Derek helped lead his team to three league championships.  Born to Dave and Melinda Legg, Derek has carriers on a strong athletic and baseball family tradition.  His parents both attended San Diego State University where his mother was a gymnast and his father was a baseball player.  His brother DC plays baseball at Cypress College and his uncle Steve Hazlett reached Triple-A in the Twins organization.  Derek is a Kinesiology major at Long Beach State.
