Nate Goro to their 2010 roster. Goro, a 6’ 184 pound freshman, comes from Wichita State University.
Recently graduating from Lafayette High School in Wildwood, Missouri, Goro lettered four years in baseball and three years in football. He was selected in the 46th round of the 2009 MLB draft by the Detroit Tigers. He hit .518 as a senior, while making all-conference, all-metro, and all-state.
In 2008, Goro made the Area Code games, finishing in the top 50 in SPARQ testing and top three in the nation at his position. That summer he also hit .343 with seven home runs and 33 RBIs for the Rawlings Prospects.
“We’re really excited about having Nate in the lineup everyday,” said Bay Sox General Manager Kirk Fredriksson, “He’s been drafted, and even broke Ryan Howard’s high school home run record. From what his coaches say, he’s an extremely hard worker.”
