PoVey signed with Lincoln on June 23, and played sparingly the rest of the season as the team’s number-two catcher.  Tycen came to Lincoln after spending 2008 in the Frontier League, catching first for Evansville and later Traverse City.  He went undrafted out of college, but was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2007 as a 24-year-old undrafted free agent.  Tycen played in 18 games for two different rookie-level teams in the Dodgers organization, and then moved to independent baseball in 2008.
