As a junior, Marcos Calderon was a great contributor for the Butler Bulldogs during the 2013 season. He led the team in at-bats, runs, and second on the team in hits. He finished the season with a .268 batting average, 51 hits, 9 doubles, 2 home runs and 23 RBI.In 2012, Calderon emerged as the team's starting center fielder. He played in 55 games, starting 45 times, batted .274 with 25 RBIs and 23 runs scored. Calderon posted 12 multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI outings. During his freshman season with the Bulldogs he was also used as a relieft pitcher, totaling 20.1 innings over nine pitching appearances, eight in relief work. He posted a 0-2 record with a 4.43 ERA along with batting.231 in 26 at-bats as an outfielder.  Calderon's hometown is Miami, Florida, and attended Belen Jesuit High School. He was named Florida's Class 4A Player of the Year in 2009 after batting .511 with seven home runs and 45 RBIs. As a pitcher, he posted a no-hitter in the district tournament. He was also named the school's sportsman of the year as well as Team MVP and team captain.
