Jared is capable of both pitching and hitting for the Honkers this summer, but will likely be used primarily on the mound. In 15 apperances for New Mexico State this season, the right-hander compiled an impressive 7-3 record and struck out 53 over 69.1 innings of work. He was impressive with the bat as well, and hit .365 over the 63 at-bats he received, including a whopping five home runs in such limited time. If he does get a chance to hit, there is little doubt he could do real damage in the Northwoods League. Jared joins his New Mexico State teammate, infielder/designated hitter Chris Auten, on the Honkers.
