#33 Mike Breyman - Profile

Title: Manager
Birthday: Jul 16, 1981
Hometown: Attica, Ohio
The Slammers announced the hiring of Mike Breyman as their second manager in franchise history on January 2, 2013. Breyman, 31, served as the hitting coach for the Gateway Grizzlies in 2012 and in the same capacity with the River City Rascals in 2010 and 2011. Current Slammers' GM Chris Franklin was the General Manager of the Rascals during those seasons. They won a Frontier League Championship with the Rascals in 2010 and Breyman was named the Frontier League’s Coach of the Year in 2011. Prior to that Breyman was the Grizzlies’ bench coach in 2009 and played with Gateway for five seasons (2004-2008). Breyman finished with a .325 career batting average and a .999 career OPS. Before his professional career as a player and coach, Breyman played his college ball at the University of Kentucky. One remarkable fact about Breyman is that he hit .810 his senior year of high school in Attica, Ohio. The .810 batting average is the highest ever recorded in a single high school baseball season in American history.
