Delano recently closed out his career at Braintree High School and will be attending Division I Vanderbilt University of the Southeastern Conference in the fall...the 6-foot-7 fireballer was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 35th round of the 2012 MLB Draft back in June...became the 12th high school player from Massachusetts since 1999 to get drafted by the Red Sox...nearly two years after Tommy John surgery, Delano had a monster season for Braintree as a senior in 2012...the 18-year old struck out 50 batters in 57 innings of work to go along with four wins and a 1.21 ERA, while also belting four home runs at the dish...the flame-throwing right-hander earned MVP honors in the Bay State Conference’s Carey Division and was also named a Region 1 All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
