Luis Chirinos is a 6-2, 215 lbs. right handed pitcher from Maracay, Venezuela. Chirinos spent his first two and a half years (2007-09) as a professional with the Dominican Summer League (DSL) Marlins, in which he posted a combined 10-8 record with a 3.13 ERA in 43 games as a starting and relief pitcher. Chirinos finished the 2009 season with the Greensboro Grasshoppers of Greensboro, North Carolina in which he played one game, pitching three innings giving up no hits or runs. Also in 2009, Chirinos signed as an undrafted free agent with the Florida Marlins. In 2010, Chirinos played for two teams the Greensboro Grasshoppers and the Jamestown Jammers of Jamestown, New York in which he posted a combined record of 4-4 with a 3.83 ERA in 18 games as a started and relief pitcher.  In 2011, Chirinos played for the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings of Harlingen, Texas in which he posted a 4-2 record with a 3.95 ERA in 18 games as a starting and relief pitcher. In 2012, Chirinos played for two teams the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings and the El Paso Diablos in which he posted a combined record of 12-6 with a 3.14 ERA in 18 games as a starting pitcher.
