Sean Fesh is in his fifth season as Westerners pitching coach in 2012. Sean was assistant coach at Fairfield University in 2009. Fesh pitched professionally for 17 years and as the Stags’ pitching coach he assisted with the day-to-day operations of the baseball program.
A native of Bethel, Fesh was drafted out of high school by the Houston Astros in the 64th round. After spending five years with the Astros organization, he was traded to the San Diego Padres in 1995 as part of the largest trade in baseball history in the 13-player deal. He also pitched in the New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, and Colorado Rockies organizations. In 2003, he went 10-1 with a 1.87 ERA splitting time between Carolina and Albuquerque of the Florida Marlins organization and helped Carolina to a Southern League Championship. In 2004, he spent a full season with the Richmond Braves, the Atlanta Braves AAA affiliate, recording a 3.74 ERA. Fesh finished out his professional career with the Bridgeport Bluefish.
