Indianapolis, Ind., native Jesse Brown signed with the CrackerJacks on Sept. 13, 2011. Brown just completed a solid freshman campaign at Long Island University-Brooklyn, where he played with fellow-CrackerJack Kyle Pomeroy.
In 2012, Brown appeared in 32 games an made 23 starts for the Blackbirds. In 78 at bats, he picked up 19 hits, including three doubles, one triple and two home runs. In addition, Brown posted 11 RBIs, slugged 0.385 and finished with a 0.386 on-base percentage. In the field, Brown had 20 putouts, four assists and only committed one error (0.960 fielding percentage).
Brown attended Franklin Central High School, where he was a four-year letterwinner. He was named to the All-Conference teams in 2010 and 2011 and garnered Honorable Mention All-State accolades as a senior in 2011.
A Business Management major at LIU-Brooklyn, Brown is the son of Jesse and Brenda Brown.
