Meyer performed well as a freshman in 2012 with the Gophers. In 15 appearances the righty had an ERA of 2.37 while striking out 32 and walking only eight batters. Meyer only allowed four extra base hits all season (three doubles, one triple).

Prior to MN: Meyer helped Totino Grace High School to a North Suburban Conference championship as a season with a 5-2 record. He was an All-Conference honoree as a junior and as a senior.
