Alexandria native Dalton Leuschke returns home to play for the Beetles following his freshman season at Des Moines Area Community College. Leuschke was twice named All Central Lakes Conference, and made the All State Team his senior year in a Cardinal uniform. He was a three year starter at shortstop, and played in the Lions All Star Game following his senior season. He hit a three run walk-off home run in the first round of the 2010 Legion State Tournament. Leuschke hit his first collegiate home run on April 6th as part of a 2 for 4 day in a 10 to 0 win over Ellsworth Community College. In 25 games played, he had a .361 batting average, six doubles, one home run, and 18 RBI. Through 46 games, DMACC had a record of 35-11.
