Weisman made 4 appearances and started one game in which he dazzled against Fordham needing just 21 pitches to face the minimum 9 batters over three innings, struck out two and allowed one base hit. He made his collegiate debut in a win over Lehigh, tossing a scoreless ninth inning and pitched a perfect inning in game one at Manhattan.

Weisman was named the Eastern Massachusetts Division II Player of the Year at North Andover High School in 2011, striking out 95 batters and leading North Andover High to the state semifinals. A three-time all-Cape Ann League selection, the Knights won three league titles and two North Sectional crowns in his four seasons on the varsity team, as the lefthander put together a career 25-7 record on the mound.
