Eric Turner is in his first year with the ThunderBolts and second as a professional in 2025. He was acquired from the Schaumburg Boomers in exchange for Caleb Riedel on August 11, 2025. He had appeared in 16 games for Schaumburg prior to the trade, going 7-2 with a 5.67 ERA. His pro career began briefly with the Chicago Dogs of the American Association in 2024, when he appeared in three games and allowed just one earned run.

Turner pitched for Kentucky State University for two years, going 9-4 overall with a 4.28 ERA in 22 games (20 starts). As a junior in 2023, he went 5-0 and struck out 58 hitters in 51 innings. He also spent two years at Tabor College and went 4-3 with a 4.96 ERA. He attended Gilmer High School in Ellijay, Georgia.
