Originally a 9th round draft pick of the Oakland Athletics in 2018 out of Georgia Southern, Cohen spent the first six years of his pro career in Oakland's farm system, going 24-19 with 11 saves and a 4.29 ERA in 157 games (34 starts). Cohen reached Triple-A Las Vegas where he spent most of the 2023 season and went 2-1 with a 2.61 ERA at Midland (AA) last year. He sports a career 3.07 ERA at the Double-A level and was an MiLB.com Organization All-Star in 2022. Cohen is a product of Alpharetta (GA) HS where he holds the school record for strikeouts in one game and ranked sixth in the state in diving.
