Melani played a key role in the Stetson bullpen during his redshirt sophomore campaign, appearing in 18 games while earning three wins and two saves. The righty finished second on the Hatters as opponents hit just .188 against him across 28.2 innings, a similar mark to the .175 that was managed while he pitched for the Mystic Schooners last summer. He was 2-0 with one save and a 1.62 ERA in 16.2 frames through his first NECBL stint.

A three-year letterwinner at Seminole High School in Sanford, Fla., Melani was named a Perfect Game second-team All-American twice. Melani helped his team to a Class 9A state title as a sophomore.
