Dever found his name on the lineup card 26 times during his freshman year at Brown, where he hit four doubles, three homers, 18 RBI and 10 runs scored. The outfielder burst onto the scene by hitting his first two round-trippers during the opening weekend of the season at UT Martin in February and had a 4-for-4, four-RBI game against Stonehill in March, while hitting safely in six Ivy League games.

Arriving at Brown from Fort Bend Christian Academy near his hometown of Houston, Dever is an exceptional athlete who also plays quarterback for the Bears. He was a two-time all-state baseball player and holds his school's record for single-season hits, average and on-base percentage. He was the first athlete to compile more than 100 hits and 100 touchdowns in Texas.
