After not playing summer baseball in 2022, Umberger returns to the Gulls two years after being a big piece of the Gulls success two seasons ago. In 2021, he finished with a 1.64 ERA in 11 innings pitched while striking out 21 and walking five across seven total appearances, which led to an NECBL All-Star selection. Umberger finished his junior campaign this past year with an ERA of 5.79 while striking out 30 and walking 19 batters across 23 1/3 innings pitched. Umberger made 15 appearances, two of which were starts for the Hokies this year.
