The towering 6 '7 righty started his career off at Lipscomb University before transferring to Pasco Hernando State College in his native Florida. In the fall, he will be playing baseball at Dayton University. This past spring for PHSC he had a 5.79 ERA across 18.2 IP over 15 appearances. He racked up 18 strikeouts while only walking 9 batters. Newell is one three Pasco Hernando State College Bobcats who will be playing for the SwampBats this summer. Before college, Will pitched at Leon High School where he threw two no hitters, one his sophomore year and one his junior year. He also served as team captain for his junior and senior seasons. Newell was a top 500 player nationally in high school per Perfect Game. He will be majoring in Business Management in the fall.
