Griffis was a regular in the Stetson outfield at the outset of his freshman year and wound up playing in 49 games while starting 31 of them. Ten of his 24 total hits went for extra bases, including eight doubles, one triple and his first career homer at Miami, which was the highlight of a nine-game hit streak to begin his college career. He also ranked second on the Hatters with 13 stolen bases in 14 attempts.
The 6-foot-3 outfielder is from Longwood, Fla., and attended Lake Brantley High School. Perfect Game ranked him as the No. 9 outfield prospect in the Sunshine State prior to the start of his college career.
