Bruce Fishbach returns for his seventh season as the Head Athletic Trainer for the X’s in 2025. A certified athletic trainer, Fischbach served as Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine at the University of South Dakota from 1987 until becoming Director Emeritus in 2021. He worked 34 seasons with the South Dakota Coyotes before retiring in 2021, leading a staff of nine certified trainers for the USD Men’s basketball team.

Since 1984, Fischbach has worked at various athletic events, including the College World Series, NCAA Division II Indoor National Track Meet, NCAA Division II Elite Eight, Orange Bowl, and South Dakota High School Football Championships. He is currently the head trainer for the U23 Team USA Wheelchair Basketball Team and serves on the Board of Directors for the National Wheelchair Basketball Association. Inducted into the South Dakota Athletic Trainers’ Association Hall of Fame in 2014, Fishbach has held several leadership roles within the organization.

Before USD, Fischbach was a trainer for the Kinston Eagles and worked as a student trainer at the University of Nebraska. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Nebraska and a Master of Sport Science degree from the United States Sports Academy. Fischbach resides in Vermillion, South Dakota, with his wife Kelly and their three children: Ryun, Kylie, and Dylan.
