Segui comes to Sanford following his first season of college baseball with the North Carolina Tar Heels. He made his collegiate debut on May 10, when he pitched an inning against Gardner-Webb. Segui signed to the Tar Heels out of Tampa Jesuit High School, one of the top programs in the state of Florida. Segui was ranked as one of the top 40 players in the class of 2021 in Florida, as well as one of the top ten righthanded pitchers.
