A native of Naples, Fla., Smith joins the Navs following his first-year stint on the bump at Stetson. He appeared in 10 games and pitched 12 innings for the Hatters, giving up only five earned runs and striking out eight batters while posting a 4.09 ERA. He struck out a career-high four batters in a May 1 loss at UCF.

Smith pitched in 15 games over his last two seasons at the Community School of Naples, going a combined 7-4 with a 1.47 ERA and 145 strikeouts in 76 innings with 145 strikeouts. He was the team’s pitching MVP in 2020 and then earned Naples Daily News All-Area and second-team All-State honors in 2021.
